I woke up this morning to read accounts of what’s happening in the Standing Rock Indian Reservation with the peaceful protesters and police brutality over the Dakota Access pipeline and this sacred land.  If you haven’t heard of what is going on here, please learn more about this. Do note that the U.S. media is not covering this well by not providing full coverage and slanting the events, claiming riots are breaking out among protesters when people are standing in peace. Last night, people gathered with song and prayer over their land as law enforcement deployed water hoses, tear gas and rubber bullets on them.  Wondering what you can do? If inspired to take action from your home, you can help HERE.

All the while, millions of people continue to struggle with fear, hate and anger over the results of the U.S. election.

Suffice to say, some deep healing needs to take place on many levels in many places!

I am offering two things today:

One, I realize I haven’t offered a Global Prayer & Reiki Healing Circle in many moons, so I am offering this now. I have decided to keep this Prayer & Healing Circle going continuously, with no end.

This is how it works: Simply contact me by leaving a message on this blog post or contact me privately by clicking HERE. You can request healing for yourself, a loved-one, a pet, your home, work, finances, health, for a situation, your hopes and dreams or for anything else you can possibly image that is positive, healing and loving for everyone involved. Feel free to think big here. I also invite you to send any event that is happening around the world to me for healing.

To this, I am also adding the entire situation around Standing Rock, the current U.S. political landscape, the millions who are struggling, and the environment along with global warming.

This weekend, Amma the Hugging Saint, will be in San Jose, California, and I will be there in meditation with her heightened spiritual energy. I will be sending prayer and healing to everyone and everything in the Global Prayer & Reiki Healing Circle while there, infusing my Reiki with Amma’s powerful, vast, compassionate and incredibly loving energy for deep global and individual healing.

Please send your requests now to be added to the Global Prayer & Reiki Healing Circle. Prayer and healing will begin immediately. I will send Reiki to those in the Circle during my morning and evening meditations beginning today and continuing forward.

Secondly, I simply want to share a message to stay balanced in your own heart and connected to your spiritual center despite what is happening around you. I am reminding you to be in the sacredness of the moment. I cannot express how valuable this is right now.

Thich Nhat Hanh writes in his book, Being Peace:

“The superpowers now have more than 50,000 nuclear warheads, enough to destroy our planet many times. Yet the sunrise is beautiful, and the rose that bloomed this morning along the wall is a miracle.”

Take 1 minute right now. Breathe deeply and simply BE in the current moment. There is beauty and peace found within right where you are.

Here in the U.S., the Thanksgiving holiday is upon us. This is a time to take a moment and count our blessings, focusing on the good and positive things in our lives. Thursday is our official day of gratitude. What are you truly, deeply grateful for? (You are invited to share your gratitude on the comments section of this blog post and fill this page with light!)

Here are some beautiful moments I experienced last weekend, moments I am deeply grateful for…

I hiked around the mountain where I live in Sonoma County. It rained, and the first thing I ever want to do when it rains is get into the forest and walk among the elementals. I count my blessings every day for this magical land. It is from this mountaintop that I send most of my distance Reiki healing energy around the world during my private sessions.

Autumn is my favorite season, and it is upon us! September 22 at 7:22am PST is the autumn equinox, where light is in perfect balance and the magic of a new season begins to stir. (It also happens to be my birthday- hooray!) To celebrate this enchanting time of year, I am sharing a few photos I casually took recently on a woodland walk near my cottage in Sonoma County. I am in love with the changing colors, the crimson, amber and russet tones that are beginning to enrobe the natural world.

It is clear that the beautiful alchemy of autumn is well underway. Enjoy this magical time. The moon is in its waning phase, so think of all the things you are ready to release that no longer serve you. Write it all down, burn it to ash, give it all to the winds to whisk away like dried, fallen leaves. It’s a time to refresh, to embrace positive change, to invite beauty and magic, and to embrace this season as a personal harvest of all things wonderful.

Autumn blessings to YOU in love and enchantment!

Ascension Circle in Sonoma County, CA

Ascension Circle in Sonoma County, CA

I have been teaching certified Usui Reiki classes in Sonoma County, CA, for many moons now. With all things in life and in livelihood, it is time to expand and grow. With this being said, I have an exciting announcement about a new group I am co-creating for all healers and lightworkers.

I have recently aligned energies with a soulful, like-minded practitioner, Barb McEntee, to create and co-lead a new spiritual group called the Healer’s Ascension Network.

Barb and I originally met through the Songbird Healing Center in Cotati, where I am currently a supporting member and Shamanic Reiki practitioner. We are both energy-workers and spiritual coaches who have much in common. We both work with theta and angel energy, we are each highly intuitive and we each work from a place of unconditional compassion, abundance, non-ego, non-judgment and authenticity. We have a deep interest to support other healers in doing the same in business and in life.

Lately, I have been getting spiritual nudges to write a book on how to start a private practice. I wanted to share my own secrets and strategies for launching and sustaining a successful healing business. I often see healers struggle with poverty-consciousness, a sense of competition and lack of work. My desire is to share a step-by-step process on how to get started from social networking, finding a location to work from, advertising, to setting positive intension and so forth.

When Barb approached me about partnering up to create, teach and lead a group class, supporting other lightworkers in their growing practices, it completely resonated and felt perfectly aligned with my own work!

This is what Barb writes about our initial connection:

“Shana appeared in my life exactly when I needed her. I have been working as a Reiki Master/Teacher for several years by the time we had met, and was taken in by the beautiful energy Shana channels with Reiki. I was in a place in my life where I was looking for a person with whom I might be able to partner up with to develop a group for other healers of all traditions to help increase cohesion within the healing community. I knew right away that Shana and I were meant to be connected in Reiki and that she was to be a part of this journey.”

What has evolved from Barb and I joining energies is our new group called the Healer’s Ascension Network.

This evolved network is for all healers, lightworkers and anyone interested in creating a thriving spiritual business or personal practice. Our Ascension Circles include an opening meditation/spiritual ritual, an educational discussion on various topics aligned with conscious business and spiritual development, and a shared group healing to heal the healer. This is a sacred space designed to compassionately guide you past blocks you may be having in your practice while awakening you to a new paradigm of intension, process, and success. You are warmly invited to join this supportive circle, share your craft, and co-create an expanding network of ascended healers.

The mission of this group is to form a network of healers to spiritually nurture, support and inspire one another, to celebrate in each other’s victories, and to step into our individual gifts, power and unlimited successes. During our discussions, we will cover topics such as:

• Letting go of the illusion of competition between practitioners
• Releasing poverty-consciousness and trusting that the universe has abundance for all
• Keeping the ego mindfully in balance
• Stepping out into the world as your authentic Self
• How to start and elevate your practice
• The power of energy, continuous positive thinking and setting high-vibe intention
• Self-care and setting healthy boundaries
• And so much more!

The Healer’s Ascension Network meets in Sebastopol, CA, starting November 3, 2015. Mark your calendars and get ready for some magical nights of sacred ritual, shared healing modalities, engaging fire-side discussion and lots of fun!

______________________

Our first of many gatherings, which we are calling Ascension Circles, will focus on Manifesting and Setting Intensions. There will, of course, also be time for networking, sharing and participating in spiritual, meditative ritual. Our Circles are held in Sebastopol, CA, in a beautiful space filled with crystals and lots of loving, high-frequency angelic energy.

It is synchronistic that our first Circle is taking place on November 3rd right after Samhain, the Celtic New Year. Because of this, it’s a perfect time to set our positive intensions and our energy on what we wish to create in the new season and year ahead.

Some topics that will be discussed during this first Ascension Circle are:

• How to recognize and remove blocks that are standing in your way from success
• How to mindfully harness a continuous flow of positive thinking
• How to embrace Abundance-Consciousness
• How to release the competitive, all-for-one and one-for-all mindset
• How to use visualization, mantra and energy to create what you wish for

Abundant angelic blessings to you!

Shana

I have something special I would like to share with those of you who have an interest in sending distance Reiki or have (or will) complete a Reiki II class.

To begin, let me briefly explain a little about Reiki II. The second level of Reiki is a powerful achievement. It provides three significant Reiki symbols- the power symbol, the mental/emotional symbol and the distance symbol. With these symbols, anyone can start a Reiki practice and provide Reiki by distance as I do. (You can visit my Distance Reiki page HERE to learn about my own distance healing work or click HERE to learn more about my Certified Usui Reiki Classes.)

When I teach Reiki II, I like to have my students practice sending distance Reiki using a pillow or a doll as a model to represent the person intended to receive the healing energy. This is a physical way for a person to send energy to an absent recipient and can often make the process easier to conceptualize and perform.

With this said, I have a dear student of mine who I taught the Reiki I, II, III and Master Teacher levels to years ago. Her name is Kimm Abercrombie, and she has designed a wonderful way to help Reiki students and practitioners to more tangibly send distance Reiki. She has handcrafted a Reiki doll for use during distance energy healings. I now use her doll during my Reiki classes as a model for my own students.

This is what she writes about her handmade Reiki dolls:

The beginning ideas for the doll came with my inability to connect with a teddy bear or doll for Reiki distance healing.  I kept thinking that there could be a tool with a more neutral identity to transfer intention to different subjects. The shape was inspired by gingerbread cookies and a toy that my son had as a child. The larger size, I felt, was much better to be able to use more standard hand positions and inspiration for new ones.

I wanted it to be made of all natural materials as much as possible. The idea was to empower the Reiki flow with color and crystals. The body is made of 100 percent cotton, stuffed with bamboo fiber. The Chakra discs are 100 percent wool hand embroidered with pure cotton thread. I clear the crystals corresponding to the Chakras with sea salt and sew them to the doll with Reiki constantly flowing. I have found that it strengthens intent and flow as have my Reiki students that have used it for some time now.

I have decided to charge $85.00 for the doll after comparing it to others of a similar kind on ETSY. Due to its size and quality, I feel that this is still a very reasonable price. I would be happy to give a $10.00 discount to your students. But there would still be a ten dollar shipping and handling charge.

I am happy to make them to order as to color and crystal choice.

The doll measures 23” in length from head to toe and 16” in width from the tips of the outstretched arms. Here are some photos and color options that Kimm shared with me of her Reiki dolls:

If you are interested in learning more or would like to order this Reiki doll, please contact me HERE. I will happily connect you with Kimm.

I wish you all lots of love and light and Reiki success. May your healings and higher learning be profound and may your spiritual endeavors flourish.

Solar Plexus Chakra

Solar Plexus Chakra

Every Reiki treatment I give includes a complete chakra balancing. This is one of my favorite healing gifts to provide, and I never close a session until each of my client’s main chakras have been cleared, activated and harmonized.

Recently, during my work, I have noticed that many of my clients are experiencing a weakness in the solar plexus chakra. Since this has been a running theme, I thought it would be worthwhile to write a little something about the solar plexus and offer a few tips to help strengthen this area.

The solar plexus is located right below the heart just under the ribcage.

solarplexuschakra

Location of the Solar Plexus

This is a significant point within the energy body. I like to think of the solar plexus as the personal power spot. It is the third chakra. In Sanskrit, it is called Manipura. It relates to the color yellow. To me, it feels like the power of the sun. It holds the energy of personal and spiritual empowerment. It is connected to self-confidence, drive, self-respect, strength, self-worth, courage and a healthy sense of self. Here is more information on the solar plexus chakra:

There are some simple ways to keep this area vitalized. One is to meditate on the color yellow or to simply have the color yellow around. Wearing a yellow shirt, for example, keeping yellow flowers, making yellow art, or bringing decorative yellow accents into the home are some helpful ideas.

Crystal therapy is also effective for chakra balancing. Citrine is one of my favorite crystals, and it can be used to empower the solar plexus. Keep this stone in a place where it can be seen throughout the day like on a work desk or keep it close to the body, tucked away in a pocket or worn as jewelry. If you don’t have citrine, simply visualizing and meditating on its image can be just as effective. If you do this, visualize that the citrine is being placed right inside your solar plexus. This can invoke wonderful healing.

During sessions, I will directly channel the energy of citrine (or whatever crystal shows itself to me that is specialized for the client’s healing) into the solar plexus to amplify its energy. Another technique I use is to draw down the sun. I do this by channeling the powerful sun energy into the solar plexus. My client can further this work by visualizing that the sun is being placed right into the solar plexus. This meditation can fill and warm up this area, which is often what a weak solar plexus needs to be activated and in balance.

Mantras and affirmations can be effective in promoting healing shifts. Here is an empowering mantra for the solar plexus:

solar plexus 2

Each of the chakras has a sound frequency that relates to it. The seed mantra of the solar plexus is: Ram. Meditating while slowly chanting the word Ram is a way to connect the vibration of your own voice to that of your solar plexus, thus clearing and harmonizing this power point.

The following are two musical videos that focus solely on solar plexus healing using sound frequencies. This first video, Magical Chakra Meditation Chants for Solar Plexus Chakra | RAM Seed Mantra Chanting and Music, is an hour of meditative chanting. You do not have to listen to the entire hour, just a few minutes will be of benefit if your time is limited. I would recommend looking at the screen while listening, so you can focus on the bright yellow image. You may also gain benefits simply by playing the music in the background while you work, meditatively walk, or putter around your home. If you enjoy listening to chants, this may be a great video for you.

If you are reading this post on the emailed version of this blog post, click HERE to watch the video:

This next video is called 528 Hz – Manipura: The Solar Plexus Chakra. The sound frequency here is designed to match and activate the solar plexus. If you quiet your body and mind enough, you may be able to feel the energy of this music vibrate within your solar plexus.

Click HERE to watch the video if you are reading this post on the emailed version:

Have fun experimenting with colors, crystals, meditations and sounds. If you feel you need a deeper healing and more significant chakra balancing (for any of your chakras), I am always available for distance or in-person Reiki sessions. You are welcome to contact me HERE anytime.

I will leave you with this positive image and mantra:

solar plexus 1

I wish you much balance, personal empowerment and courageous vitality, always.

Sunshiny Blessings!

We are deep into late summer. Autumn sneaks just around the corner, teasing us with amber and crimson leaves that dangle from Sonoma County’s twisted old trees. Fall has come early this year, and I couldn’t be happier. I love this time of year; I love autumn and everything it embodies. But, before I cast my farewell kisses to our beloved sweet summer, I would like to share one of my highlights from the season of the sun.

In August, near Lammas, I traveled to Seattle to visit friends and family. As you may know, I used to live in Western Washington, in Seattle and in Bellingham. I love this entire area, for it brims with woodland magic, luscious gardens, deep azul waters and the mystical, tree-clad San Juan Islands. The whole area feels like the womb of Mother Earth- vibrant, abundant, beautiful and pregnant with life.

My time spent in this area was chock full of raw food gatherings, spiritual events and forest frolickings- everything I love! Here is a photo journal, a small taste, of my time in the Pacific Northwest with my spirit sister, Giacinta.

*Note: Most of these photos were taken either by me or my dear friend, Giacinta, with our iPhone cameras. Enjoy the perfect and a few not-so-perfect shots of some very perfect moments. 🙂

First off, I’d like to say thank you to the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) for offering raw food snacks. I found vegan raw bars and kombucha while waiting for my plane. A great way to start my travels off right!

On my first day in Seattle, synchronicity would have it that a recipe for a Raw Vegan Orange Chocolate Torte should fall into our laps. Of course, we went right out, bought the ingredients and got to work. This is it…

The original recipe for this torte can be found HERE. We made the exact recipe, tasted it, and decided it needed more. To this recipe we increased the raw cacao then added carob, cinnamon, cayenne and vanilla for depth of flavor. We also exchanged the agave for maple syrup. In hindsight, dates would have been the best choice for sweetener. At some point in the future, I will remake this torte and post a proper recipe. Until then, know it was delicious and made a grand appearance at a few raw food gatherings with some very happy friends.

During one of our in-state journeys, we made our way to North Bend to pick fresh organic blueberries from Bybee Farms nestled at the base of gorgeous Mount Si. (Pictured Below). If you are in the North Bend area and would like to learn more about how you can pick your own berries, click HERE.

This day was one of my favorite days, a highlight indeed. I was surrounded by rows and rows of blueberry bushes and clear skies filled with sunbeams, bumble bees and the sweet scent of fruits and leaves all coddled by the majestic Mount Si. It was incredibly soul-filling!

As you can imagine, we ate blueberries for days. This is one of the meals we enjoyed among friends, each one of us contributing fruits and vegetables for this shared offering of fresh picked garden greens, blueberries, mango salsa, avocado and zucchini in pesto. Delish!

We were serendipitously blessed by a full moon during my time in Seattle. I love full moon energy and love to channel this powerful force during my meditations and healing Reiki sessions. With this being said, we participated in a full moon group meditation to honor Mother Moon in the height of summer as symbolized by my favorite flower, the sunflower. This is the candlelit, celestial altar that centered the meditation.

Another amazing evening we shared, and one of my top highlights, was a shamanic full moon drum circle at New Earth Farm in Redmond, WA. (Click HERE to learn more about New Earth Farm) This drum circle took place on private property that held an organic garden and lots of deeply sacred energy. Snuggled in a ring of redwoods and lush ferns, surrounding a fire pit was a circle of stone seats. The fire was lit; we each took our places, called the corners, and drummed, rattled and rolled into the warm moonlit night. The energy that was generated from our primal music and our collective, harmonious presence was magical and not to be forgotten any time soon! I hold the healing vibration and memory of this evening near and dear to my heart.

When we weren’t gathering for potlucks, meditation or drumming, we were out and about in Seattle, eating. Three great vegan restaurants I would recommend in Seattle are Café Flora, Chaco Canyon, and Jodee’s. Here are some of the dishes from each restaurant…

Café Flora

Café Flora

This was one of the best things I ate the entire time I was in Seattle. This is Café Flora’s Beet Gnocchi in Pesto with an Herbed Nut Cream, (pictured above) which I shared with Giacinta and my sister, Angel. This was ridiculously delicious and I couldn’t recommend it more!

Chaco Canyon

Above is a photo of some of the offerings at Chaco Canyon in Seattle. We noshed on raw vegan enchiladas, salads and green juice. Delish!

And lastly, the above photo is of Jodee’s raw vegan pizza. Jodee’s, in Green Lake, specializes in raw vegan deserts and smoothies but once in a while she offers up Friday night pizza. This is a yummy slice of her Mexican Pizza.

The abundance of good, healthy, vibrant food gave us energy to run around and play in the forests. Carkeek Park in Seattle is one of my favorite little spots to visit. When I lived in Seattle, I would visit this park often to commune with the nature spirits, walk among the greenlings, hug trees and meditate. When I was here with Giacinta, we came and did much of the same…

For me, no trip to Seattle is complete without gathering friends for a raw vegan ice cream party and who better to host this type of a gathering than my friend Jeff Rogers, AKA the Naughty Vegan. You can read more about Jeff HERE. Jeff is an amazing ice cream artisan. If you love ice cream, I highly recommend his recipe book, Vice Cream, found HERE. Jeff whipped up a Coconut Peach Ice Cream, Giacinta and I brought frozen bananas and durian, and everyone else brought a variety of frozen summer fruits. Another friend, who, like myself, graduated as a raw chef from Living Light, brought raw vegan caramel and chocolate sauces to drizzle over all the ice cream.

Jeff passed all the frozen fruit through his Champion Juicer to create a soft-serve style ice cream. (The Champion Juicer is an excellent machine to use to turn frozen fruit into ice cream.) This is the delightful mess we made in his kitchen and the yumminess that ensued…

My last day in the Pacific Northwest was spent in Bellingham, one of my favorite places in Washington. I have lived in Bellingham and have spent much time in this area. This magical, quaint town and the surrounding woodlands have crept into my veins and won’t let me go. I love it here. Giacinta and I went to one of my favorite spots, to Larrabee State Park. It was here we soaked up the grounding energy of the boulders, the vitalizing energy of the ocean and the mystical energy of the rich forest.

Magical Trails...

A magical trail…

I’ll close this travel journal entry with one of my favorite photos, taken by Giacinta. Here I am in my favorite place, in the forest, becoming One with everything around me. There is no place I would rather be, truly!

Shana in the emerald forest

Shana in the emerald forest

My time in Western Washington this summer was abundantly full of my favorite things. I am brimming with gratitude for everything I experienced and for everyone who shared my journey. I am deeply grateful for Giacinta who walked with me along the way. Until the next time, dear enchanted Washington, I hold you in my emerald heart. Thank you. I love you.

Many times my intuitive readings turn into coaching sessions. And more times than not, the discussion often leads to the topic of manifesting, ending with my client walking away with new ideas and tools to create their heart’s desire. My sweet dear sister calls me the Manifesting Coach and claims this is my ‘special talent.’ Well, I have to admit, I have often been able to create the things I want, and over the years with my spiritual work, I have got this down to a science.

With all this being said, I am starting a string of blog posts called the Manifesting Series. In this first entry, I’ll be discussing the difference between want and gratitude and how these too feelings affect our ability to manifest what we wish to have in our lives.

Let’s think about want for a minute. When we desperately want something, there is a tightness in the body. We are not completely relaxed nor are we in our natural balanced state of being. The breath is more shallow, for we subconsciously wait to fully exhale until we have received the very thing we want. Our minds may be occupied by our desire, furthering this unrest and perhaps creating a level of angst. This feeling and the energy that is created in our bodies, reverberates into the universe. What is created is more unrest and an imbalance, especially if the level of our desire is high and unmet over a duration of months or even years.

Now let’s consider gratitude. Have you ever thought about feeling gratitude for something you want but do not yet have? You do this by expressing gratitude as if you ALREADY have it. I will repeat this, because it is a very important component of manifesting. Feel gratitude NOW for the very thing you wish for as if it is already here in your life.

This is similar to the Native American saying: “Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.”

thanks

Let’s put this into practice. Take 5 minutes to relax right now. Close your eyes and breathe deeply three times to quiet your mind and ground your body. Now say either out loud or in your mind, “I am grateful for _____.” Fill in the blank with whatever it is you have been wanting. Say or think, “I am filled with gratitude for having ______ in my life.” Sit with this feeling for a few moments and feel what it is like to have what you want.

As you begin to give thanks for already having the very thing you wish for, your body starts to relax and lighten. Your heart will open, you may feel a deep peace and finally exhale. When you feel true pure gratitude for receiving, you begin to emanate with the energy of having exactly what you want. At this point, you no longer create a sense of want, rather you are creating the vibration of having. The former creates lack and the sense that you do not yet have, while the latter creates abundance and a feeling of I have it now!

This aligns your physical, mental and spiritual frequencies to the thing you want. It sends out a very different vibration than simply wanting. You are now vibrating as if you have what you want, which in turn helps to manifest what you want. The universe will bring you what you energetically send out.

This is a beautiful example of the quantum theory that like attracts like. We cannot attract harmony if we are not harmonious. We cannot create an abundant, positive life if we are not abundant in positive thought. You may now see the importance of vibrating with what you want, staying positive, never doubting, and believing in your imagination.

Imagination is everything, for it is the precursor to what you create. It takes imagination to truly feel that you have something in your life that has yet to come.

Remember, your thoughts and feelings create energy. The question is what kind of energy are you sending out into the world and what will this energy bring back to your doorstep?

Happy manifesting, Dear Ones. Have fun tuning into your imagination and meditating on your gratitude for all the blessings in your life and for all the blessings on their way to you!

In love, gratitude and abundance,

Shana XO
