Many times my intuitive readings turn into coaching sessions. And more times than not, the discussion often leads to the topic of manifesting, ending with my client walking away with new ideas and tools to create their heart’s desire. My sweet dear sister calls me the Manifesting Coach and claims this is my ‘special talent.’ Well, I have to admit, I have often been able to create the things I want, and over the years with my spiritual work, I have got this down to a science.
With all this being said, I am starting a string of blog posts called the Manifesting Series. In this first entry, I’ll be discussing the difference between want and gratitude and how these too feelings affect our ability to manifest what we wish to have in our lives.
Let’s think about want for a minute. When we desperately want something, there is a tightness in the body. We are not completely relaxed nor are we in our natural balanced state of being. The breath is more shallow, for we subconsciously wait to fully exhale until we have received the very thing we want. Our minds may be occupied by our desire, furthering this unrest and perhaps creating a level of angst. This feeling and the energy that is created in our bodies, reverberates into the universe. What is created is more unrest and an imbalance, especially if the level of our desire is high and unmet over a duration of months or even years.
Now let’s consider gratitude. Have you ever thought about feeling gratitude for something you want but do not yet have? You do this by expressing gratitude as if you ALREADY have it. I will repeat this, because it is a very important component of manifesting. Feel gratitude NOW for the very thing you wish for as if it is already here in your life.
This is similar to the Native American saying: “Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.”
Let’s put this into practice. Take 5 minutes to relax right now. Close your eyes and breathe deeply three times to quiet your mind and ground your body. Now say either out loud or in your mind, “I am grateful for _____.” Fill in the blank with whatever it is you have been wanting. Say or think, “I am filled with gratitude for having ______ in my life.” Sit with this feeling for a few moments and feel what it is like to have what you want.
As you begin to give thanks for already having the very thing you wish for, your body starts to relax and lighten. Your heart will open, you may feel a deep peace and finally exhale. When you feel true pure gratitude for receiving, you begin to emanate with the energy of having exactly what you want. At this point, you no longer create a sense of want, rather you are creating the vibration of having. The former creates lack and the sense that you do not yet have, while the latter creates abundance and a feeling of I have it now!
This aligns your physical, mental and spiritual frequencies to the thing you want. It sends out a very different vibration than simply wanting. You are now vibrating as if you have what you want, which in turn helps to manifest what you want. The universe will bring you what you energetically send out.
This is a beautiful example of the quantum theory that like attracts like. We cannot attract harmony if we are not harmonious. We cannot create an abundant, positive life if we are not abundant in positive thought. You may now see the importance of vibrating with what you want, staying positive, never doubting, and believing in your imagination.
Imagination is everything, for it is the precursor to what you create. It takes imagination to truly feel that you have something in your life that has yet to come.
Remember, your thoughts and feelings create energy. The question is what kind of energy are you sending out into the world and what will this energy bring back to your doorstep?
Happy manifesting, Dear Ones. Have fun tuning into your imagination and meditating on your gratitude for all the blessings in your life and for all the blessings on their way to you!
In love, gratitude and abundance,
